MetalBeams workshop at MAX IV

Corrosion researchers will hear talks and presentations - and be walked through the process steps from a research idea, through experiment planning, sample preparation, measurement and data analysis. Finallly, a Ni-based alloy will exposed to a corrosive environment - and studied in real-time using APXPS measurement at HIPPIE Beamline.

Time: Mon 2023-11-13 11.00 - Tue 2023-11-14 15.30

Location: MAX IV Laboratory, Lund

Language: Mainly English

This MetalBeams workshop will focus on corrosion and synchrotron-based in situ measurements using Large Scale Research Facilities such as MAX IV.

Day 1 offers a series of interesting talks and presentations. During Day 2, we will walk you through the process steps from a research idea, through experiment planning, sample preparation, measurement and data analysis. The workshop ends with a real-time APXPS measurement at HIPPIE Beamline, where we will study a Ni-based alloy exposed to a corrosive environment.

For more information about the programme, and to register, see this MAX IV webpage .

About MetalBeams

MetalBeams is an initiative within SIP Metallic Materials, run by Jernkontoret, Swerim and RISE, to encourage the use of large-scale infrastructure (synchrotron x-ray and neutron sources) by the metals industry.
