Invitation to MATRAC 2 School “Application of Neutrons and Synchrotron Radiation in Materials Science with Special Focus on Fundamental Aspects of Materials” to be held in Herrsching and Garching (near Munich), Germany, from 1st to 6th September 2024

Registration is now open for our MATRAC 2 School 'Application of Neutrons and Synchrotron Radiation in Materials Science with Special Focus on Fundamental Aspects of Materials' to be held in Herrsching (Ammersee) and Garching (near Munich), Germany, from 1st to 6th September 2024.

The MATRAC 2 School will provide a systematic overview of the application of neutrons and synchrotron radiation to the structural analysis of materials and will focus on neutron scattering and imaging experiments. All relevant experimental methods will be covered. The school consists of a two-day theoretical course in Herrsching with some interactive teaching elements and two days of experiments at the MLZ / FRM II in Garching. The fifth day of the school offers further talks and a final discussion. PhD students, last-year Master’s students and young postdoctoral scientists from research and industry from all over Europe interested in the field are welcome to participate.

The school is held in with the framework of the Röntgen-Ångström-Cluster (http://www.rontgen-angstrom.eu) and receives funding from the BMBF (Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung, German Federal Ministry of Education and Research) as well as from Vetenskapsrådet (Swedish Research Council).
