Combining X-ray imaging and diffraction measurements can provide a more holistic insight into materials and biomedical characterisation problems. Many synchrotron facilities, including the PETRA III Swedish beamline, therefore have instrumentation for both imaging and diffraction experiments. Some facilities such as DIAMOND now offer instrumentation for simultaneous imaging and diffraction.

This workshop Combining X-ray imaging and diffraction for materials and biomedical characterisations will firstly give an overview of X-ray imaging and diffraction instrumentation. Researchers from the UK, Germany and Sweden will then go on to present examples of novel research. For your research, you will also have the opportunity to discuss how to write successful beam time proposals with beamline scientists such as Dr Sharif Ahmed, Dual Imaging And Diffraction, Diamond Light Source Ltd.

Venue: KTH Innovation, Teknikringen 1, Stockholm

End of workshop programme

This international workshop is jointly organised by the Center for X-rays in Swedish Material Science (CeXS) and the MetaLSF project. The MetaLSF Project provides continuing professional education on the use of neutrons and x-rays in metallic metals research, which is funded by the EIT RawMaterials - a body of the European Union. We are also grateful to the Swedish iron and steel producers' association for supporting this event.
